Privacy Policy

Below is a boilerplate privacy policy I found here, as apparently all websites need one now.

To state it simply, when you visit this website, it collects the information that your browser sends to every website you visit on the internet -- for example, your IP address, whether you are on a phone or computer, your screen resolution, the site that referred you to this site, the things that you click on within the site, and so on. This website does not collect any additional information, such as your name, phone number, address, date of birth etc. Regarding information collected by third-parties who advertise on this website: there should be none, as this website has never had any advertisements and it never will. As far as cookies, this site uses cookies to track your browser's visits to this site. Finally, regarding sales of the above data, the data will never be sold to anyone.

This privacy policy document describes in detail the types of personal information is collected and recorded by this website.

Log Files

Like many other Web sites, this website makes use of log files. These files merely logs visitors to the site – usually a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. This information is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

Cookies and Web Beacons

This website uses cookies to store information about visitors’ preferences, to record user-specific information on which pages the site visitor accesses or visits, and to personalize or customize our web page content based upon visitors’ browser type or other information that the visitor sends via their browser.

Google's DoubleClick DART Cookie

→ Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on www.mywebsite.com.
→ Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our site’s visitors based upon their visit to www.mywebsite.com and other sites on the Internet. (Website owner's commentary: This website has never had advertisements and it never will have advertisements. Perhaps what this boilerplate line means, is that the Google DART cookie will use your visit to this website, to guess at your interests. Perhaps it will then show you an ad, on another website, based on those interests. Perhaps an ad related to legal services, ethics and so on. I'm not sure how this works, but I'll leave this boilerplate section in. As far as I know, I do not have any control over this Google DART cookie, although apparently you can opt out at the link below.)
→ Users may opt-out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy at the following URL – http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html

Our Advertising Partners and Third Party Ad Servers

On other websites, advertising partners and third party ad servers may use cookies and web beacons. However, this should not be relevant when visiting this website, because this website has never had any paid advertisers, and never will.

Children’s Information

We believe it is important to provide added protection for children online. We encourage parents and guardians to spend time online with their children to observe, participate in and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

This website does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian believes that this website has in its database the personally-identifiable information of a child under the age of 13, please contact us immediately (using the contact in the first paragraph) and we will use our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

Online Privacy Policy Only

This privacy policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website and regarding information shared and/or collected there.

This policy does not apply to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.
